Your money is held, not spent.
Creators are paid only after the post is verified live.
On Creatorly, a brand funds a campaign upfront and the money waits. Each creator is paid only after their Instagram post is checked on their connected account, held for 24 hours, and found still live.
Where your money is at each step
You pay into the campaign through Razorpay checkout before creators start. That money is held against the campaign. It is released to a creator only when their deliverable passes verification. A creator who doesn't deliver isn't paid, and money for unfilled slots comes back to you.
- You fund the campaign through Razorpay checkout: cards, UPI or netbanking. Every fee is itemised on screen before you pay.
- The money is held against your campaign. Nothing goes to a creator yet.
- You approve creators and drafts. Nobody works on your brand without your yes.
- The creator posts on Instagram and hands in the post's link.
- Creatorly checks the post on Instagram automatically, straight away.
- It holds the payout for 24 hours, then checks the post again.
- Still live? The creator is paid from your funded budget. Taken down? It isn't paid.
What a post has to pass before anyone is paid
Creators connect their Instagram account when they join. When they hand in a final post, Creatorly reads it through Instagram's official API. There is no screenshot proof and no brand click needed for the final post.
Report a problem. If a live post breaks your brief, report it before the payout is released. The payout waits while the Creatorly team reviews the post and decides whether it is paid.
What Creatorly checks
- Posted from the creator's connected Instagram account
- Carries your hashtags or @mentions from the brief
- Went up after the creator was approved and before your deadline
- Still live 24 hours later
When a creator is not paid
- They don't hand anything in. No post, no payout. That part of the budget isn't spent.
- Their post fails the checks. Wrong account, missing hashtags or @mentions, or posted outside the campaign window.
- The post comes down. A post removed before the 24-hour re-check isn't paid.
- You report a problem in time. The payout waits until the Creatorly team has reviewed it.
- A slot is never filled. Money for unfilled slots comes back to you.
When money is released, by format
Every format is funded upfront. What changes is the moment money moves to a creator.
| Format | Money is released when… |
|---|---|
| Campaign | The creator's post is verified on Instagram and still live 24 hours later. Each creator is paid the fee you set. |
| Contest | You declare the winners. Until then the prize pool stays held. Entries are checked through their Instagram post links. |
| Pay per view | 14 days after the post is verified, once, for its views at that point, within the caps you set per post and per creator. |
| Editing / UGC | You approve the files (up to two rounds of changes), then after a short hold. No answer within 5 days counts as approved. |
Is this escrow?
It works like escrow: you fund first, the money is held, and it is released only when the work is verified. But Creatorly is not a bank or a licensed escrow agent. It is a marketplace, and payments move through licensed payment partners. Brands pay through Razorpay checkout. Creators set up payouts (PAN and bank account) and are paid automatically to their bank account.
Every payment in and every payout out is recorded against the campaign it belongs to, with the payment provider's own reference on the record.
Why this is good for creators too
The money for a campaign is already there before you start, so the question is never whether the brand will pay. Once your post passes the checks and the 24-hour hold, the payout is sent automatically to your bank account through Razorpay. Set up payouts once in the app first. How Creatorly works for creators.
